Good News

G just came from the cancer Dr. He is still cancer free (Hallelujah). He now will have to visit this Dr every 6 months instead of every 3 months. This is really good news. I just wish the other Drs
could do something about the nueropathy.

Colin has been in dance camp. Thursday is their final day. They put on a performance Thursday night 7pm. Maybe I will actually get some video or photos uploaded. :)

Heart goes out

My heart goes out to my co-workers that lost their jobs today. Too many good hard-working people gone & they did nothing wrong. Our company profits have been down & they've been making cuts for the last few years.
I personally haven't had a raise or increase for 2 yrs. Today I'm grateful I still have a job. Honestly every day I'm grateful I have a job.
One guy that is gone sat 2 desk away from me. I'm having trouble sleeping because I think of him & others I know. I know they have small children or which guys wife is still in school. I know it's going to be really tough for some people. I also understand that companies are in the business to make profits. If the profits keep declining decisions will be made that will affect some people negatively. I was in management for 10 yrs so I know it was hard for the people that had to make the decision or give the bad news. That is the part of management that I did not like. I'm sure know one likes it. My heart goes out to us all. It affects us all. Our company is a large employer in our town. This week 2 other company announced job cuts. It's tough times.
I know we will make it but it is still hard.

In my heart forever

Colin amazes me almost daily. He is an incredible dance. He's great in math but not so great in reading. He knew his letter sounds at 3 year old & vowel sounds at 4. He was reading small words at 4 so I don't understand why he struggles with reading. Well, yes I do. He doesn't take the time to sound out the word; he will guess. I've been working with him because his self esteem in reading is low. I encourage him & tell him he needs to practice.
I tell him he doesn't do just the easy moves in breakdance he needs to have the same approach with reading. He improved his dancing, yes he has a ton of natural ability but he works at it to get better. He doesn't want to work at his reading. I was encouraging him because he made the comment that he's not a good reader. I said I don't want you to say that; I want you to say, I'm becoming a better reader. I said you are very talented & smart. He said I'm talented. I said yes, not everyone can break dance or tumble like you. I said it takes incredible body strength and talent to do what you do. He said Awe Mommy Thank you. You will be in my heart forever. He touched his heart & said right hear. I was so touched. I said you will be in my heart forever too darling. He amazes me almost daily.

that's a vocabulary word

Colin is so funny. When he's talking & uses a vocabulary word, He will say that's a vocabulary word.
Last night before bed we were praying together. I pray first then he prays. He started praying & used a vocabulary word. He said during his prayer; That's a vocabulary word.
I chuckled to myself. I thought it was so cute. Every time I think about it today it makes me smile.
